The Evolution of a Breathwork Coach

Ever since I can remember, my purpose has been to make a difference. It’s an inner knowing that has guided me quietly, much like the calm voice within me that prefers peace over noise, subtlety over command. I’ve never been an outspoken or loud person; instead, I have always walked through life with a quiet and gentle presence.

But like so many of us, I got swept up in the “shoulds” of life—what society says your path ought to look like. And for many years, I followed that script dutifully. A career, responsibilities, societal expectations... I checked the boxes, one after the other, believing this was the way life was meant to be. Until it wasn’t.

In December 2022, everything came crumbling down. A death in the family shattered the foundation of what I thought life was, forcing me to face not only the fresh waves of grief but also the weight I had been carrying for so long—overwhelm, stress, and trauma. Some of that trauma was generational, passed down like an unspoken inheritance.

I remember sitting on the floor, tears streaming down my face, as I told my husband, Michael, “I can’t do this anymore.” It wasn’t just grief talking—it was every suppressed emotion, every ignored calling, every unprocessed hurt. Something had to change. Drastic change is terrifying, but at that moment, I knew it was the only way forward.

Then, I stumbled upon breathwork. Or perhaps, breathwork found me.

Breathwork Saved My Life

It started as a single breathwork class. An hour of focused breathing where the stuck emotions came crashing through. That day I began learning to reconnect with myself, release what I was holding onto, and create space for healing. Slowly but surely, the heaviness began to lift. The grief softened, the stress ebbed, and for the first time in years, I felt like I could breathe—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.

The transformation was profound. Breath by breath, I began to feel whole again. And as the pieces of my life came back together, I realized something else: I had found my purpose.

My lifelong desire to make a difference finally had a clear path forward. Breathwork had given me back my life, and I knew I had to share this gift with others. I decided to become a breathwork coach.

Becoming a Breathwork Coach

I started by learning a powerful technique called conscious connected breathing—also known as circular breathing or rebirthing. This is no ordinary breathing practice; it is a transformative method that helps release emotional baggage and unlock deeper levels of healing.

With every client I guided, I saw the same thing happen: release, relief, and reconnection. I witnessed people shedding years of suppressed emotions, healing from deep-seated trauma, and discovering a sense of peace they hadn’t felt in years. This was the work I was meant to do, and it filled me with purpose every single day.

For the past year, this technique has been the cornerstone of my practice. But as I’ve grown as a coach, so too has my understanding of the power of breath.

The Next Level: SOMA Breath

This year, I’ve decided to take my coaching to the next level by integrating SOMA Breath into my practice. SOMA Breath weaves together guided breathwork, mindfulness, and body movement into a deeply immersive experience.

What makes SOMA Breath unique is its versatility. It can be adapted to meet a wide range of goals—whether it’s deep relaxation, manifesting dreams, or energizing the body and mind. By combining breathing rhythms with visualization and movement, SOMA Breath becomes more than just a practice; it’s a journey.

Adding SOMA Breath to my offerings has been like discovering a missing puzzle piece. It has given me the tools to take my clients even deeper into their healing and transformation.

A Life of Purpose

Looking back, I can see how every step of my journey—every struggle, every loss, every moment of doubt—has led me here. What once felt like breaking apart was actually breaking open, creating space for something new, something true.

Breathwork didn’t just save my life; it gave me a life I love. It allowed me to live my purpose, to make a difference in the lives of others, and to do so in a way that aligns perfectly with my calm, quiet nature.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected, know that change is possible. Healing is possible. And sometimes, all it takes to begin is a single breath.

Here’s to breathing life into purpose.
